Those Places Thursday - Cherry Blossom Festival

The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. is fast approaching. The festival celebrates the gift of cherry trees presented to First Lady Helen Herron Taft in 1912 from the mayor of Tokyo. It is truly breathtaking to see the trees in full bloom surrounding the tidal basin!

Thank you to the people of Japan for this wonderful gift. We will continue to keep your entire nation in thought and prayer.

  4. We had Cherry Blossoms on our campus in Pennsylvania and it was a beautiful time of year to sit at the Millersville pond with the swans and blossoms.

A beautiful post and beautiful tribute to a country going through so much right now.
