I remember getting leeches on my ankles as a kid when I was playing with my brothers in a shallow swampy end of a lake (where we weren't supposed to be) that my parents used to take us on picnics. I was fascinated by them and didn't think they were creepy at all.

Wonder if this is what killed my great-uncle who died in the dentist chair? More likely it was anesthesia. Whatever - don't like dentists or leeches.
