Several weeks ago I discovered webinars offered on the Legacy Family Tree site. What is a webinar? Webopedia description is as follows:
"Short for Web-based seminar, a presentation, lecture, workshop, or seminar that is transmitted over the Web. A key feature of a Webinar is its interactive elements -- the ability to give, receive, and discuss information. Contrast with Webcast, in which the data transmission is one way and does not allow interaction between presenter and the audience."
The first of these webinars I attended was presented by one of my favorite bloggers, DearMyrtle. The topic of the webinar was Blogging for Beginners, which was full of helpful tips and answered many of my questions. Another great feature about the site is the webinars are archived for a period of time for later viewing.
I have bookmarked this site to keep updated about future webinars. Have already registered for one give by Thomas MacEntee of GeneaBloggers, entitled "Google for Genealogists" being presented in January. Several upcoming webinars are "Helping Unlock the World's Record - FamilySearch Indexing for Power Users" and Sharing Your Family History with Legacy Charting".
Here are several genealogy gem blogs discovered this week :
The Scrappy Genealogist
Western Kentucky Genealogy
Check out these great blogs, register for a webinar, and have a happy Follow Friday!
